Sarasota, Fla. — AirCAV Global LLC today announced TAC-GCS 12.1, the latest version of its Tactical Ground Control Station, a Windows application that lets public safety and enterprise drone teams dispatch, fly, monitor and recover up to 10 aircraft from a single operator station. Specifically designed to be a full, modern, multi-drone command and control station at fractional costs of the proprietary system primes.

DFR Hangar & Automated Return

The headline feature is DFR Hangar & Automated Return. Each aircraft is assigned its own hangar, and one control brings it back and lands it on the pad — including an aircraft that has set down away from base, which TAC-GCS arms, lifts off and returns home. Because TAC-GCS makes the hangar the aircraft’s own home point, the aircraft’s onboard return and failsafe behaviors lead back to the hangar as well. On ArduCopter aircraft equipped with a downward-facing camera computer, precision landing guides the final descent onto a marked pad, with a defined hold-and-retry sequence if the marker is lost.

“Drone as First Responder only works if the aircraft gets home as reliably as it got out,” said Robert Willis, founder and CEO of AirCAV Global. “With 12.1, the operator gets an aircraft from a 911 call to the scene and back to its hangar without juggling tools, and the safeguards around arming, readiness and failsafes stay in front of them the whole time.”
